1983 Malayalam Movie

There is something very special about the characterization in '1983', and the crisp detailing is almost faultless. And this eminence spreads across almost every character in it, be it the namesake Sachin (Jacob Gregory in a side-splitting role) who drops in like a thunderbolt from Mumbai to play a match, or the beautician (Priyanka) who looks like a flustered peacock with a hair job gone all wrong, who decks up Ramesan's bride Susheela (Srinda Ashab) at his wedding.'1983' casts a spectacular nostalgic spell over a nation that is known to breathe cricket, and in the process gifts us with the first cinematic gem of the year. It does a magic trick that makes you smile, that breaks your heart and that inspires you to the hilt. Match splendidly won, Abrid, and further matches keenly awaited!

Isha Talwar : Glamour has nothing to do with clothes

Actress Isha Talwar, known for her versatility in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films, believes glamour is defined by one's personality and not necessarily by the clothes one wears. She says someone can appear glamorous even when covered from head to toe. "I believe glamour is all about one's personality. One can be glamorous even when covered from top to bottom and not appear glamorous even in short clothes. It's like beauty and each one of us perceives it differently," Isha told IANS in an interview. "Sometimes even when you're covered from head to toe, one can present oneself with sensual undertones to appear glamorous. Even body language makes up for being glamorous in some cases," she added. Isha, who made her cinematic debut in a deglamorised role in Malayalam romantic-drama "Thattathin Marayathu", which was a box-office winner, says an actress need not always trade sensuality to be successful in the industry. "It's a preconceived notion that one has to be sensual to succeed in the industry. I played a Muslim girl covered from head to toe in my debut film. It was a role sans glamour, but the film was successful. Some films demand one to be glamorous and some may not," she said. She, of course, confesses that "since cinema is a visual medium, it is required of an actress to explore her sensual side as well and therefore sensuality doesn't rule out the option of garnering attention and a little bit of success". Born and raised in Mumbai and a graduate in Economics from St. Xavier's College, Isha is the daughter of Bollywood filmmaker Vinod Talwar. She is trained in different dance forms such as salsa and ballet, and she featured in several commercials before making it to the film world. In filmdom, Isha believes it's important not to get typecast. "It's very important to do a variety of roles. Had I played another deglamorised role after my debut film, I would have been typecast as someone fit only for such roles. That's why I followed it up with glamorous roles in different genres of films," Isha said. Since her debut, the young actress has starred in back-to-back successful films such as "I Love Me" (Malayalam), "Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde" (Telugu) and "Thillu Mullu 2" (Tamil). Isha, however, doesn't like to be called a successful actress yet. "I'm a beginner. I have a long way to go to be called successful. People are referring to me as lucky charm and I'm quite happy about it. I think I have to do a whole lot of films before I can claim to be a successful actress in the industry," she said. Does this mean she believes in quantity over quality? "Not number of films necessarily...because sometimes even a few films with star actors can make someone successful. It depends on which film and the role one gets to essay in it. I think I have done only a few films to demonstrate my skill," she added, giving credit to her critics. "I treat critics and audiences on par, but eventually it's the audiences who make or break an actor. Audiences pay money to watch our films and therefore they ought to be respected." "The feedback from critics is very important. It helps a beginner like me to head in the right direction and make smart career decisions," she added.

Neram malayalam Movie

In 'Neram', Alphonse Puthran tries to infuse some fresh imagination into a been-there-done-that scenario and succeeds in parts. The notions hold little promise, but the adrenaline driven execution lights up things quite a bit.Mathew (Nivin Pauly) is an engineer who has lost his job in Chennai on account of a very peculiar bombing. He marries off his sister, borrowing money from notorious money lender Vatti Raja (Simhaa), and months later when unable to pay him back, finds the goon hot on his heels. Too add to his misery, his love Jeena (Nazriya Nazim) has decided to elope with him, and her dad Johny Kutty (Lalu Alex) has lodged a complaint against him at the local police station. The posters did claim that this was a film that had nothing new to it. And yes, amen to that. It's a story that is as old as cinema itself, and the struggler protagonist juggling between a love life, financial constraints and a threat to his own life are all that we have seen so many, many times before. So the expected excuse would be that the treatment is different. But with so many Tamil, and even some Malayalam films churned out in the same format, even the treatment is nothing much to brag about.

Auguest Club Malyalam Movie

She has a doting family that comprises of her husband Nandan (Murali Gopy) and two kids. When a young man Shishir (Praveen) makes an appearance at the Club, Savithri finds her champion throne challenged and herself miserably seduced by his charms. The tremendous attraction that Savitri feels towards Shishir appears to be more cerebral initially. She is repeatedly made to give in before him, as he beats her time and again in games of chess. It takes a while for Savitri to realize that her subjugation and defeat have more to do with the repressed desires of her mind than her intellectual prowess.

Silk Smitha's Life-Climax Malayalam Movie

This film keeps its focus fixed on merely two aspects of Supriya's life - her material assets and her love for RK. Bereft of both of these, she finds herself ruined beyond repair, and nothing else - her family, friends, or the lack of it - is dwelt upon. The form of narrative that 'Climax' adopts puts a director (Irshad) on the forefront, who claims to have known Supriya from close quarters. It's he, who tells us her story, and he does admit that he is clueless about what happened to her eventually. The suggestion that she had no reason to commit suicide is put forward.

Bharya Athra Pora - Jayaram Gopika Movie

However when Sathyanathan 'discovers' the Facebook, he starts feeling that his wife hasn't been up to the mark, and Priya decides that she cannot take it anymore. The chief issuue with 'Bharya Athra Pora' is that Sathyanathan is a husband whom we have seen several times before. The only difference is that the man is obsessed with Facebook this time around. But his complete disregard for his own family, and the lure towards any woman but his own wife, is something that we have seen in several husbands already.
